Federal Government Partners with ShafDB to Construct 5,000 Housing Units

The Federal Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Shelter Afrique Development (ShafDB) to build 5,000 housing units. During a press conference in Abuja, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa, announced that ShafDB will provide advisory services and financing for qualified developers.Dangiwa emphasized that this marks the first time the Ministry has entered into a direct partnership with a multilateral institution for housing development in Nigeria.

He highlighted that the initiative aligns with the Presidential Priorities and Deliverables, aimed at increasing access to affordable housing, boosting economic growth, and enhancing urban development.
"We will review their recommendations and take necessary steps to implement them as we begin our second year in office," Dangiwa added.In response, the Managing Director of ShafDB, Mr. Thierno Habib Hann, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with the Nigerian government in advancing the country’s housing agenda.
